MEET OUR PASTOR

Pastor Clyde W. Ellis, Jr. is a visionary with a calling placed on his life to save one soul at a time to build the Kingdom of God. On December 18, 1988, he was called to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Ellis received his ministerial ordination under the great leadership of Pastor Frederick L. Ray, the fifth pastor of Mount Olive on June 17, 1989. As an Associate Minister at Mount Olive he served as the Adult Sunday School teacher.

As an anointed man of God and a retired military officer, God provided numerous opportunities for Pastor Ellis to preach and teach the gospel with simplicity domestically and abroad. After being ordained, God transferred him to Anchorage, Alaska to impact lives and win souls for Christ. Pastor Ellis served an Associate Minister with the Fort Richardson Gospel Ministry and the Solid Rock Baptist Church. He later was transferred to Fort Sill where he united with Union Baptist Church in Lawton, Oklahoma, and where he served as an Associate Minister and the teacher of the Brotherhood Ministry. He also served as the Treasurer for the Lawton Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.

With many years of sacrificial service to the Lord, on January 12, 2001, Pastor Ellis was called to be the Pastor of Mount Olive. Pastor Ellis was installed as the sixth servant of God on March 3, 2001. Under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Ellis, Mount Olive continues its spiritual growth as a church, as one family that believes in caring, sharing, and loving. He has created pioneering and progressive ministries to develop the membership of the church and is truly dedicated and determined to lead the flock by example. Pastor Ellis is a man of action, and one of the leading voices of a new generation. He is a true man of God that has educated and guided many on this journey.

Pastor Ellis is married to a God fearing woman, June (Walker) Ellis of Henderson, North Carolina. To this union, God blessed them with two sons, Clyde Ellis, III and Marco Ellis.
